About Us
Sustainability: For the land, farmer and local community.

Sustainable agriculture is a way of raising food that is healthy for consumers and animals, does not harm the environment, provides a fair wage to the farmer, and supports and enhances rural communities. At Quail’s Run Farm, we follow all organic farming practices but have chosen to forgo the certification process. We use organic fertilizers and never use any herbicides or pesticides. When we can, we also use organically grown seed and give preference to open-pollinated and heirloom vegetable varieties that help promote genetic diversity.

We are proud to be able to supply our sustainably grown produce to our community and appreciate your support. In turn, we also strive to recirculate the money spent on our products into our local community by buying from local merchants.

If you have questions about how we grow our vegetables and raise our animals, please contact us and we will be happy show you around our farm and explain how we do things. Further in-depth information on sustainable farming can be found on the internet at attra.ncat.org or sare.org.

Our history
It has been a dream of ours to one day have a small farm where we could raise our family and grow fruits and vegetables. After a stint in the high-tech industry, we were able to make that dream come true.

Patty actually grew up on a dairy and vegetable farm in southern Wisconsin and recalls those days fondly. Loren grew up longing to farm and was given his first opportunity helping to grow chewing tobacco and was hooked. Fortunately not on tobacco!

We have owned our lovely farm on Whidbey Island since 1999 and have been supplying local residents with our delicious produce for the past 7 years.
